▶Objectives
The project aims to shed light on the problem of low employment of people with disabilities in the mainstream labour market. By supporting self-advocates (min. 12) from among people with disabilities who will work directly in the participating companies (min. 30) that are legally obliged to employ people with disabilities. We want to achieve increased awareness and needs of PwDs in the labour market. Within the framework of the project, we are verifying this by evaluating the companies.
▶Activities
The project focuses on the creation and implementation of 2 training modules: 1. Developing the potential of direct self-advocacy of persons with disabilities towards the labour market (min. 20 hours per person) 2. Training of ordinary employees of companies (min. 10 persons in each company) in communication skills with people with disabilities (min. 8 hours per person) The project includes impact measurement and dissemination. The needs of PWDs are key for us in the development of the modules.
▶Impact
The project anticipates increased employment opportunities for people with disabilities, improved workplace inclusivity, and enhanced understanding among employers and employees. It aims for systemic change, fostering autonomy of PwDs as self-advocates, societal integration across groups with different experience, and a more equitable labor market capable of effectively accommodating larger scope of people. Last but not least, the development of cooperation between organisations.
