Objectives

We aim to implement a replicable capacity-building program for nurturing future leaders and entrepreneurs capable of actively participating in rural development policies in relation to sustainable tourism. Specific objectives: • Equipping young individuals with competences in sustainable tourism and a deep understanding of rural development mechanisms. • Integrating young people's vision into LAGs' Local Development Strategies. • Enhancing collaboration and best practices sharing among partners

Activities

Except from the activities related to Project Management and Communication&Dissemination, the capacity building program consists of the following steps: • Competence Lab: theoretical training sessions • Discovery Journeys: reciprocal visits among LAGs rural areas where participants can observe how each LAG implements Local Development Strategies. • Blueprints for Change Lab: workshops where participants draft guidelines aimed at helping LAGs implement their sustainable tourism strategies.

Impact

Three are the main project’s results: 1. Convey competences and skills to local young individuals interested in sustainable tourism and local development, practically implementing their findings in LAGs local development strategies 2. Engage young participants in an active path of commitment, giving them the opportunity to participate in the policy-making process, tearing down social barriers 3. Enhance participating organizations’ capacity in shaping better policies for their local communities
