▶Objectives
We want to teach the children insight into the origin of food, the path from soil to meal. By focusing on nature's resources, we can help the children gain an understanding of how they themselves can help take care of nature, through concrete activities such as cultivation, composting/reusing food/soil. We will teach the children good values, attitudes and actions about how they can contribute to a sustainable society that they can live by into their lives and in the years to come.
▶Activities
To make the project a part of our everyday life, we must read and seek information and learn together about sustainability. We will find out which vegetables grow best in our climate and the difference. We will use everything in the kitchen garden to prepare dishes. We will study the ecosystem and the importance of insects.Turn food and garden waste into soil and collect rainwater to reuse.
▶Impact
With the project, we expect that both children and teachers will gain increased awareness and knowledge of how we can all become more self-reliant in utilizing nature's resources and what we can produce ourselves in the future. The next generation must gain awareness of sustainable development and a beginning understanding that today's actions can have consequences for the future.
