The project’s objectives are: enhancing HE teachers' capacity for rural e-SL projects fostering civic engagement in students; promoting e-SL in rural communities to empower students for meaningful engagement; facilitating collaboration between universities, teachers, and rural partners through digitalization; ensuring sustainability of e-SL results for social inclusion, civic engagement, and prosperity.

Activities

The project entails developing a training course for HE teachers to assist students in executing e-SL projects with rural community partners. Additionally, partners will design a tailored orientation course for HE students to enhance their civic engagement through e-SL experiences. Lastly, a matchmaking platform will be created to facilitate connections between teachers, students, and rural community partners.

Impact

The project aims to facilitate effective e-service-learning (e-SL) initiatives in rural areas, including a training programs for HE teachers and a guide, a specific training for civic engagement of students and the creation of a user-friendly matchmaking platform, which will serve as a central hub for connecting HE institutions, teachers, and students with community organisations, fostering meaningful collaborations and empowering students to engage actively in civic endeavours.
