▶Objectives
Our project empowers mental health and social workers to provide vital psychosocial support to disaster-affected communities. Through training and workshops, we enhance their skills and knowledge, fostering inclusivity and collaboration. Our aim is to create actionable resources for effective disaster response and cultivate unity among participants for comprehensive support.
▶Activities
The project begins by selecting ten participants through interviews and hosting a meet-and-greet session. Training takes place in Hatay, Turkey, with field visits to earthquake-affected areas. Four representatives undergo the Sphere in Practice Training of Trainers program to train participants in their countries. Evaluations lead to a training session in Romania with workshops. Online feedback is collected, and a closing meeting gathers insights for compiling a comprehensive Handbook.
▶Impact
The project aims to improve psychosocial support infrastructure in Turkey and Romania. It provides better training resources for individuals wanting to assist disaster-affected communities, leading to more competent responders. Collaboration and knowledge exchange enhance response effectiveness, ultimately fostering community resilience post-disaster.
