Empowering AI Literacy in STEAM Education
▶Summary
This project aims to integrate AI tools into STEMsubjects, targeting STEMteachers, students aged 11-15, and school administrators. We want to address the knowledge gap by providing AI training courses for STEM teachers, equipping them to introduce AI concepts in classrooms. Additionally, we want to realize student mobility programs that focus on collaborative projects involving AI, fostering international collaboration and exposing students to real-world applications of science.
▶Objectives
This project aims to integrate AI tools into STEMsubjects, targeting STEMteachers, students aged 11-15, and school administrators. We want to address the knowledge gap by providing AI training courses for STEM teachers, equipping them to introduce AI concepts in classrooms. ▶Activities
We plan 3 virtual meetings for coordination of the project and there will be seminars and workshops to sustain the mobilities in the schools. We plan 4 mobilities with 3 students and 2 STEM teachers in each partner country C1 Portugal (Leiria): Focuses on AI fundamentals and its application in STEM C2 Turkey (Manisa): Explores AI tools for problem-solving in science and technology C3 Austria (Felixdorf): Focuses on AI in mathematics, C4 Croatia (Zagreb): Addresses AI in Art and creativity,
▶Impact
We will have: an eTwinning project a School AI Club AI-generated videos and posters AI-supported mind maps AI-designed school mascots AI-enhanced STEM lesson plans an AI-supported multilingual glossary an interactive guide for STEM teachers with AI integration We expect our teachers to have the knowledge and skills to effectively use AI tools in STEM subjects and to enhance creativity and critical thinking.
