▶Objectives
The project aims to improve mentoring practices in prison facilities, enhancing professional development, reduce staff burnout, and improve job satisfaction. By developing and validating a comprehensive mentoring framework, it seeks to enhance vocational and interpersonal skills of correctional staff as mentors. Through workshops, webinars, & dissemination, the project aspires a sustainable, evidence-based mentoring approach that promotes continuous professional development in prison facilities.
▶Activities
The project is synthesizing research, developing a mentoring workshop, & conducting interactive webinars for correctional staff. Expert feedback will refine content, followed by an in-person workshop in Italy with practical exercises for validity. Virtual seminars will disseminate the framework across Europe, accompanied by evaluations to measure impact. Management involves regular meetings, quality control, & sustainability planning to foster long-term engagement and international collaboration
▶Impact
The project will yield a validated mentoring workshop framework, enhanced mentoring competencies among correctional staff, and a report on best practices for mentoring. Participants will gain skills in emotional intelligence and conflict resolution. The project also anticipates robust evaluation data, a European network for continued mentoring support, and sustainable partnerships with VET and correctional organizations to ensure the lasting impact and expansion of the mentoring framework in EU.
