▶Objectives
The SENAct project directly addresses the need of senior citizens in Domokos and Lisbon for easier access to digital technology by: - implementing concrete and sustainable materials that are suitable for the seniors of both cities - promoting the "active ageing" notion, which is an important issue for the EU, - facilitating a digital culture in both municipalities (not only for seniors) - achieving the fraternization of those cities and their cooperation in other fields
▶Activities
The SENAct project directly addresses the need for senior citizens to be actively involved and trained in the everyday use of new technologies and smart devices. Activites of this project include: - a thorough needs analysis activity to identify what seniors believe about technology - the implementation of an illustrated handbook with ICT-related material - the implementation of multimedia/VR lessons on this material - the realization of a workshop for trainers of the three organizations
▶Impact
SENAct project that will help senior citizens of Domokos and Lisbon to: - familiarize themselves with new technologies (both in terms of devices and software) - encourage them to actively participate in activities - motivate them to be part of a broader network and meet new citizens that have other culture - discover the new digital era and start communicating with members of their families who live far away from them - improve their skills and start using more easily technological devices
