▶Objectives
We aim to equip the next generation of citizen scientists and grassroots movements with the skills, knowledge and attitudes to translate their results into actions in their community and beyond. Our peer-learning approach will amplify the impact of the many Citizen Science projects executed throughout Europe by building bridges between citizen scientists, advocacy groups and local/regional administrations.
▶Activities
Two exchange visits (one in Pantin, one in Barcelona) will provide rich opportunities for situated learning, knowledge exchange and co-production and capacity building. We will co-create and deliver a training curriculum to disseminate our strategies and practices with a Europe-wide audience. Finally, a local implementation (festival) will build a prototype citizen science - public policy bridge, leveraging the results of one of our citizen science projects to inspire policy change.
▶Impact
The exchange visits will be documented with collaborative log-books, living archives reflecting on learnings from all participants. The educational activities will generate a comprehensive curriculum to help translate citizen science insights into policies and concrete actions. These materials will be made available on EPALE. The citizen science - public policy bridge will create a replicable model for constructive dialogue between citizen scientists and policy-makers, and prototype it locally.
