▶Objectives
YOLA seeks to empower youth aged 18-30 with leadership and advocacy skills to address critical ocean-related challenges such as climate change and pollution. By enhancing ocean literacy and fostering active participation in global policy discussions, the project aims to develop informed, proactive youth leaders capable of influencing ocean governance and climate policies on local, national and international levels.
▶Activities
YOLA will implement co-creation workshops in France and Poland, engaging youth in developing and testing advocacy tools. These tools will be adapted into multilingual online training modules, expanding their impact. Additionally, the international events will provide a platform for participants to showcase their advocacy efforts, engage in high-level policy discussions, and influence decision-makers. Advocacy campaigns and digital tools will be central to broadening the project's impact.
▶Impact
YOLA will result in a new generation of informed ocean advocates equipped with practical skills to lead effective campaigns. It will produce multilingual online training resources, enhance ocean literacy among diverse youth groups, and foster long-term engagement in ocean and climate action. These efforts will contribute to global ocean sustainability goals, with project outcomes integrated into educational systems to ensure lasting impact, influencing future policies and conservation efforts.
