Objectives

Green Waves aims to promote youth and women entrepreneurship in sustainable tourism, through the development of a training and awareness-raising programme that provide participants with the tools they need to develop business initiatives that enhance the natural and cultural heritage of their territories through responsible tourism practices and the promotion of deseasonalisation; thus responding to the emerging needs of the market of these new skills and competences.

Activities

Green Waves aims to provide young women entrepreneurs with the knowledge and tools to enter in the tourism industry. The project will bring together a total of 27 participants who will interact and learn together through an online programme (held in English) and workshops that will provide them with the knowledge and skills needed to develop their business idea. The project will be concluded with a mobility event in Rome, at which participants will be able to present their projects.

Impact

Green Waves will contribute to a greater awareness of the importance of preserving and enhancing their cultural and environmental heritage, the creation of new start-ups in the responsible tourism sector in the three countries involved, the strengthening of entrepreneurial skills among young participants, the increase of a tourist offer that contribute to the deseasonalisation of tourism - with consequent benefit for the local economy - and the protection of the delicate Mediterranean ecosystem.
