The project enhances inclusion and diversity by positioning Early Childhood Music Education (ECME) as a key driver of equitable access to music education. By tackling systemic barriers, it reinforces ECME’s role as a transformative force for social and cultural inclusion. The project empowers music education institutions, particularly music schools, to drive and sustain systemic change by fostering collaboration and co-creating local, inclusive, and high-quality solutions.

We will conduct a mapping of ECME across Europe, identifying challenges and good practices, and develop a modular seminar model for educators, complemented by pedagogical materials that strengthen inclusion, sustainability, and collaboration as core principles. Additionally, we will examine systemic barriers such as inequity and access gaps using various methods, including stakeholder workshops. We will continuously disseminate results, raise awareness, and drive systemic change.

The project will deliver a comprehensive report on ECME in Europe, along with a scalable modular seminar framework for music educators, enhancing the competencies of ECME teachers and institutional leaders in inclusion, diversity, and collaboration. Furthermore, it will produce evidence-based policy recommendations and a dissemination and stakeholder engagement package for music educational institutions. Overall, we expect an expanded, strengthened and more sustainable ECME network.
