Objectives

MECS aims for sustainable social transformation by encouraging the pro-feminist engagement of men. The objective is to strengthen the capacities of actors working on issues of masculinities, to develop new strategies by creating spaces for exchange between experts, activists and the general public to deepen two selected areas of work. We wish to promote a transversal and innovative approach to masculinities in the context of feminist struggles.

Activities

The project is divided into three phases: a training phase, during which the collectives select 2 areas of work from 10 identified and will organize 2 residency stays to train with experts. An experimental phase, during which the tools and strategies previously produced will be put into practice with different audiences. A final phase will serve to formalize the knowledge and transmit it through a festival, a podcast and a publication.

Impact

MECS hopes to structure a network of actors working on masculinities, by facilitating the production of accessible educational tools to transform activist practices. The knowledge developed will be formalized and disseminated to inspire other initiatives. By promoting the sharing of knowledge and practices, MECS will contribute to a lasting change in mentalities and the emergence of new dynamics of male commitment to equality.
