▶Objectives
Our educational program aims to empower eight regional teams (Germany & Austria) as bridge builders to shape their region sustainably and strengthen democratic participation. The adults learn how to shape participatory processes, involve underreached groups and build collective resilience. This results in socio-ecological solutions that are implemented cooperatively. The regions are thus actively responding to climate change and promoting a participatory culture.
▶Activities
The educational program consists of four modules, a three-day working meeting, individual on-site visits and online formats. With the help of the “Oasis Game” and “Art of Hosting” methods, the regional teams learn to reach new groups, lead participatory processes, build cooperative relationships and thus effectively contribute to the sustainable development of their region as bridge builders. Digital and live elements promote networking and a cooperative culture between the stakeholders.
▶Impact
We expect increased resilience through empowerment and participatory processes, the involvement of previously less-reached groups, as well as a sustainable strengthening of bridge builders to shape their region. Cross-border cooperation strengthens the regional team in the long term to advance socio-ecological solutions. A compact tool book with QR-linked videos, instructions and field reports ensures dissemination. This strengthens democratic structures.
