Objectives

The project seeks to transform animal shelters into centers for solidarity tourism and animal-assisted therapy (AAT), equipping VET trainers and shelter workers with tools to enhance animal welfare, promote sustainable tourism and empathy, and address inclusivity and accessibility challenges.

Activities

A guide for VET trainers A digital AAT course AI-powered system to match adopters with animals 3 Transnational meetings 2 workshops 1 pilot study Disseminating results via websites, social media, and newsletters.

Impact

1 guide for VET trainers (5 chapters, 20+ pages each) read by 45 VET trainers at the start, 4 pilot-tested exercises with 12 participants, 450 guide downloads after the pilot 1 digital course tested by 15 shelter workers, 3 course modules (40+ mins each), 120 course views 1 AI system, 30 stakeholders involved, 5% increase in adoptions, 16 animals featured per partner 1,200 website views 350 social media followers Newsletters reaching more than 60,000 contacts.
