▶Objectives
The Skills4Sea project aims to develop, implement, and certify a standardized non-formal skills training framework for maritime professionals. It enhances workforce mobility, safety, and employability by integrating assessment tools into maritime education and training (MET). The project ensures long-term recognition of non-formal skills and competences aligning with IMO, STCW, and EU Qualification Framework using CEDEFOP reference system to modernize maritime vocational education.
▶Activities

Train the trainer workshops will ensure instructor readiness, while industry engagement events will secure employer recognition. Dissemination efforts, including policy dialogues will promote long-term sustainability and certification alignment with maritime qualification frameworks.
▶Impact
The project will produce a validated non-formal skills training framework, digital assessment tool, and certification guidelines for maritime VET. At least 100 trainees and 30 expert will participate, and 3+ maritime employers and 2 certification bodies will endorse the framework. A sustainability roadmap will ensure long-term adoption, making non-formal skills and competences training a recognized standard in maritime education.
