▶Objectives
“Il était une fois …“ shall create the pre-conditions for the publication of a European Roma Fairy Tale Book contribute in the long run among others that: - the imaginations, identity and memories of Roma communities and their habits, values and traditions are expressed - the literacy of Roma is promoted (readers and listeners) - children of Roma have a better access to their mother tongue and that they learn it more easily - the desire to read and the interest in literature is awakened.
▶Activities
We would like to implement the following activities: Activity 1: Collection of Roma fairy tales in the partner countries Activity 2: Analysis and selection of the Roma fairy tales that will be included in the European Roma Fairy Tale Book Activity 3: Design of the concept for a follow-up project in which the book shall be developed and published
▶Impact
Results of the project are: 1. 90 Roma fairy tales in the mainly spoken Romanes dialect and in English 2. one publishing house per partner country is identified 3. at least three famous Roma personalities from each country have been found who will advertise the book 4. a Roma artist was selected who will illustrate the book 5. the concept for the follow-up project is the basis for the according application 6. a project booklet describes the content and results of the project
