Objectives

The main objective of this project is to provide recommendations on how to include vulnerable local populations in the development of public risk management policies. Given that these groups are more exposed to risks and less prepared, the project aims to identify strategies for incorporating their needs into decision-making processes. The goal is to enhance their resilience and ensure that public policies are more inclusive and better suited to addressing their specific vulnerabilities.

Activities

We will first gather our knowledge, then engage in dialogue with the vulnerable populations and relevant stakeholders in order to: understand their perception of risk, train them in the concept of risk and co-construct the conditions under which these populations could be better integrated into the development of public policies. Finally, we will disseminate our recommendations to vulnerable groups and local elected representatives.

Impact

The project will provide recommendations for integrating vulnerable populations into the development of public risk management policies. It will emphasize the importance of inclusive governance, ensuring that vulnerable groups are involved in decision-making processes to improve their resilience. The long-term aim is to establish a framework for experimental testing and to develop best practices for integrating vulnerable communities into disaster risk management and policy design.
