▶Objectives
SKILCare aims to enhance the teaching of soft skills for future healthcare professionals to address the challenges of an aging population and the integration of migrant workers. The project will improve their employability and ensure better quality care by developing essential skills such as communication, empathy, and adaptability to European cultural contexts.
▶Activities
The project is based on a benchmarking study between France, Spain, and Finland to compare educational approaches. Innovative learning modules and multilingual resources will be developed to support both trainers and learners. Interactions with elderly people will provide opportunities to apply newly acquired skills. Finally, the project outcomes will be widely disseminated within the European Vocational Education and Training area.
▶Impact
SKILCare will lead to better preparation of healthcare professionals, facilitating their integration into a labor market facing workforce shortages. Trainers will have new pedagogical tools to teach soft skills effectively. The improvement of relational and intercultural skills among caregivers will directly benefit elderly individuals, ensuring more humane and adapted care to meet the needs of European societies.
