Objectives

The project aims to enhance the preparedness of small local authorities (SLAs) for climate-related risks, with a strong focus on vulnerable populations. It will enable SLAs to assess their climate preparedness, equip them with awareness and training tools, and empower outreach experts to support at-risk citizens. Additionally, it seeks to create an international Community of Practice (CoP) to sustain collaboration and knowledge exchange, promoting inclusive climate resilience strategies.

Activities

The project will develop a Status Review Tool to help SLAs assess their preparedness and community engagement plans. Workshops will train officials on integrating climate risk communication. Ready-to-use learning tools will be co-designed and piloted in local events and in learning spaces. Outreach experts will be equipped and trained to engage vulnerable groups. The results will be shared through an online platform, promotional events, and a final Road Map to guide further replication

Impact

The project will produce improved outreach and planning skills for SLA officials, increased resilience among vulnerable citizens, and stronger partnerships between local authorities and community organizations. It will also lead to the development of learning tools, including accessible ones, a Community of Practice with a forum to help SLAs across Europe implement inclusive climate preparedness. The project will facilitate policy improvements and create a sustainable knowledge-sharing network.
