We believe that volunteering is a powerful driver for inclusion, empowerment, and skills development for people with disabilities (PWD). Based on our experiences as non-profit organizations and promoting social inclusion of PWD, we want to create new opportunities for PWDs to thrive in volunteer roles. By developing Three training modules for PWDs, support networks (professionals, friends and families), and non-profit organizations, we provide the tools to include PWDs in the non-profit sector.
โถActivities
We aim to promote the engagement of PWD by developing training modules for (1) PWD themselves (including social theater workshops), (2) support networks, and (3) organizations recruiting PWD as volunteers. The goal is to challenge stereotypes about disability and volunteering, and to highlight the skills of PWD. PWD will benefit from social theater workshops to build self-confidence. Professionals and organizations will identify best practices for supporting PWD in volunteer roles.

Through this project, we aim to: -Help PWD challenge their own perceptions of volunteering -Raise awareness among professionals about the abilities of PWD and show that they can participate in society -Strengthen social inclusion for PWD through their participation in volunteering -Identify barriers to welcoming PWD in volunteer roles -Equip organizations and support networks with the tools to better include PWD as volunteers -increase diversity in volunteering through better inclus
