▶Objectives
Aligned with the priority “Environment and fight against climate change”, ATLAS seeks to develop knowledge and skills in higher education to support the adaptation of Southern European agriculture to climate change. Fostering dialogue around the construction of the appropriate projects and policies, ATLAS includes training through research, knowledge and skills exchange among academics, and engagement with key stakeholders in the agricultural sector.
▶Activities
ATLAS will organize seminars where academics exchange knowledge and skills to enhance their teaching (WP2). It will carry out a learning through research program enabling master's students to work on adaptation levers in different regions and share their findings with farmers through local workshops (WP3). Lastly, ATLAS will organize two study weeks to introduce students to these issues and facilitate interactions with agricultural sector stakeholders (WP4).
▶Impact
Through 3 seminars, 3 policy briefs and a methodological handbook, ATLAS will equip 100 academics to teach about adaptation and transition to a more sustainable agriculture (WP2). ATLAS will also result in the training through research of 18 engineers and agroeconomists and in the organization of 9 workshops to foster dialogue within the agricultural sector (WP3). The 2 study weeks will engage 60 students and 16 stakeholders in lectures, debates and field visits (WP4).
