Objectives

FASAWAST aims to tackle scattered and abandoned waste by raising awareness among 16-30-year-olds about its environmental and health impacts. The five European partners propose mapping high-risk areas, developing educational tools, and organizing citizen actions to promote responsible behavior for a sustainable Europe. Prevention is key to addressing this major yet largely overlooked issue, as 40% of young people admit to littering.

Activities

FASAWAST carries out several activities: mapping high-risk areas, creating a website and an app to raise awareness and report pollution types and impacts, developing a best practices guide, organizing exhibitions and educational campaigns for young people (15-20 years old), setting up "Green Camps" to collect waste and test solutions, and promoting the project through a visual identity, a magazine, and the “Did you know” campaign.

Impact

FASAWAST addresses the pollution caused by diffuse and abandoned waste, which threatens the environment and health. It raises awareness among young people about their impacts and encourages responsible behaviors. Through its deliverables, it aims to reduce these problematic waste items, strengthen civic engagement, and promote sustainable solutions (both individual and collective) for a cleaner environment in Europe. Understanding to act and reduce our environmental impact for better health.
