▶Objectives
CiCo tackles a gap in sustainability education: the lack of accessible, hands-on learning spaces where communities can actively practice repair, reuse, and resource-sharing. While policy frameworks promote sustainable consumption, everyday citizens often lack the skills and support to integrate these practices into their lives. By transforming LoTs and RCs into local hubs for sustainabilty learning, CiCo will equip individuals with practical green skills, strengthen repair and sharing culture.
▶Activities
CiCo will combine knowledge exchange with hands-on application for immediate impact and long-term replicability. Key actions: Know-how exchange: Peer learning through mentoring and job shadowing Capacity building: Volunteer training and structural improvements for LoTs & RCs Pilot phase: Community-driven testing of improved service models Sustainability Ambassador Program: Citizens leading peer-learning green activities Replication guidelines: A best-practice framework for broader replication
▶Impact
By project’s end, CiCo will have: Established Croatia’s first fully operational LoT in Pula, fostering borrowing and resource-sharing. Expanded Ljubljana’s RC with structured volunteer support and increased accessibility. Piloted 2 sustainability learning centers, integrating borrowing, repair, and education. Trained at least 5 sustainability ambassadors per partner to lead peer-learning workshops. Created best-practice guidelines for replication across Europe.
