▶Objectives
Adult caregivers in Palliative and Elderly care (PEC), especially those who do not have access to adequate training and professional networks, are exposed to experience psychological stress that jeopardizes their mental health. Thus, SPES4Caregivers aims first to provide informal and formal caregivers in PEC with soft skills for burnout prevention and distress management; and then promote social inclusion by targeting the most disadvantaged caregivers lacking economic and social resources
▶Activities
In the context of the scientific literature, 20 caregivers in palliative and elderly care will be interviewed in 4 European countries. Guided by the academic partner, data from the interviews will be used to prepare tailored case studies for an experiential training course that targets burnout prevention for 80 caregivers.Digital OERs (as ebooks, video/audio tracks) will be prepared by clinical partners as for the asynchronous part of the course, as for providing flexible tools for any caregiver
▶Impact
Interviews to beneficiaries will gather evidence-based and tailored material for preparing case studies for the experiential training. 15 high quality OERs (e-books, video/audio tracks) will be freely available for any caregivers, even those who are not part of an organization/network. A blended training to address emotional burden and prevent burnout will be provided for elderly and palliative caregivers. Scientific-based results and evaluation analysis will grant wider impact and replicability
