Objectives

The project aims to promote the usage of digital games as a complementary approach to support social skills’ development among young autistic individuals, thus improving their quality of life and social inclusion. GAMEON will create a new methodology to promote the evidence of digital games' positive impact on adherence and motivation. Additionally, it will craft a "blended game" that integrates real-life achievements with skills learning designed by modding a commercial game into a serious one.

Activities

The Project will be structured into 5 WPs: - WP1: Project Management; - WP2: Development of the GAMEON methodology, based on research on SoA and inputs from dedicated workshops with the target groups; - WP3: Co-design, development and testing of the GAMEON digital game and its translations; - WP4: Training, pilot activities & impact analysis; - WP5: Dissemination & Communication.

Impact

- (R1) A Handbook on the GAMEON methodology describing advantages (and limits) of digital games as tools to improve well-being of autistic populations, aimed at increasing awareness in all relevant stakeholders. - (R2) A "blended" digital game to encourage autistic individuals to embrace specific challenges in their daily activities, accessible on major marketplace to facilitate take up beyond project end; - (R3) Training on the GAMEON methodology and GAMEON digital game
