▶Objectives
The project PRO Youth Work aims to strengthen youth work recognition and quality through professionalization and education possibilities, and to build stronger bonds between youth researchers and youth policy makers to promote evidence-based youth policy development in Latvia, Estonia and Finland, and other Baltic-Nordic countries.
▶Activities
After the training of academic staff (WP2), two work-based short-cycle youth work study programs will be launched – EKI5/6 level in the University of Latvia and EKI7 level in Tallinn University (WP3). A pool of youth researchers will exchange best practices and will develop innovative methodological approaches to study youth questions. They will network with youth policy makers in two national conferences (WP4). All actions foresee close collaboration with youth workers’ associations.
▶Impact
The recognition and quality of youth work will increase as two new study programs will better prepare youth workers while working in the field. An international network of youth researchers and policy makers will be expanded and strengthened. The proposals for the scientific foundations for measuring the impact of youth work (theoretical, methodological and concrete methods and co-creative models of knowledge production on youth questions) will support evidence-based youth policy development.
