By implementing the RISE project, we aim to equip low-skilled inmates with most basic skills in literacy, numeracy, natural sciences, and basic English, fostering their social rehabilitation, reintegration and employability. We also seek to enhance the capacity of prison educators through innovative teaching methodologies and adaptable resources, creating a sustainable model for prison education that promotes inclusivity, justice in education and lifelong learning across Europe.

We will implement activities including the development of a modular general competences course, pilot testing in prisons across partner countries, and creating a teaching guide for educators. Additional activities include organizing workshops, training sessions, and feedback analysis, as well as hosting transnational meetings to foster collaboration. Dissemination and evaluation efforts will ensure adaptability of the course and its long-term impact.

The project will deliver a modular general competences course with four thematic areas and a teaching guide for educators. Outcomes include enhanced skills among inmates, improved professional capacity for educators, and increased collaboration across partner countries. The project also aims to reduce recidivism rates, foster social rehabilitation, reintegration and create adaptable resources for broader use in prison educational systems and beyond them.
