EMPOWERED aims to modernize medical education by integrating AI and VR-supported training to enhance doctor-patient communication skills and improve healthcare outcomes. Aims: - Develop a scalable, competency-based training model for medical communication. - Integrate VR and AI-driven tools to enhance practical, patient-centered education. - Improve patient outcomes through advanced communication strategies - Integrate digital communication training into medical education policy.
▶Activities
The EMPOWERED will develop a structured curriculum, create an AI-supported learning platform, and implement VR-based role-play with real and simulated patients. It will design an accessibility module for visually impaired students, develop (12+9 topic) Teacher Guide materials, conduct teacher training, and translate materials into multiple languages (Pol, Hun, Rom). Piloting, feedback collection, quality assurance, dissemination, and policy recommendations will ensure impact and sustainability.
▶Impact
The EMPOWERED project will develop 12 curriculum modules, 7 VR webXR based role-play simulations, 19 Teacher Guides, launch an open-access platform, and an AI-powered update system sourcing from 30+ validated platforms for graduate, postgraduate students and educators. It will ensure inclusivity through a module for visually impaired students and translate all developed materials into Hun, Rom, and Pol languages. Policy recommendations will be developed for EU medical education standardization.
