Objectives

The project aims to develop a pan-European certification framework for Tree Assessors that enhances professional standards and facilitates cross-border recognition of qualifications. By fostering harmonized tree assessment practices, ETAC contributes to urban resilience, biodiversity conservation, and climate adaptation addressing EU priorities. The project will also integrate digital learning tools, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity for a wide range of professionals.

Activities

A diverse consortium of 9 VET providers, arboricultural experts, and industry representatives from multiple EU countries will implement the project. Activities will include a comprehensive needs analysis, stakeholder engagement, and the co-creation of certification standards. The project will develop a structured assessment methodology, online training resources, and an examination system. A pilot certification will be conducted to test and refine the system before its implementation.

Impact

The project’s outcomes include internationally recognized certification (consisting of certification standard and exam model), improved professional credibility, and a structured career pathway for tree assessors. The long-term impact will include higher employability, enhanced workforce mobility, and improved tree management practices across Europe. Additionally, ETAC will support policy alignment with EU sustainability goals, influencing procurement policies and industry standards.
