Objectives

GreenPP aims to align the E-SeaP programme with current advances in green initiatives, promoting an ethos of sustainability & green practices in prisons by supporting green competency training & education for prison professionals; creating green career pathways for offenders by enhancing green skills in key areas to increase labour reinsertion; networking to establish a database to connect community based green organisations & programmes with prisons, fostering volunteering & labour reinsertion.

Activities

GreenPP aims to implement a programme focused on sustainability and green skills development through activities that promote & develop: Mapping & Exchanging Green Prison Practices (WP2); Staff & Management Digital Toolkit for Implementing New Green Practices (WP3); Inmate Green Careers Programme (WP4) & GreenLinks Community Networking, Directory & Dissemination (WP5). The activities will be held in various formats, such as workshops, training, community events, online survey and a final summit.

Impact

GreenPP aims to adapt the E-SeaP programme to the specific needs of its target groups, using participatory and digital approaches for maximum involvement. The project’s foreseen impacts include: foster sustainability in prisons; improve the employability of offenders after release (developing green skills); align education and training in prisons with EU sustainability goals & the demands of the green labour market; foster closer links between prisons & green community organisations/business.
