PraC-MARENG Plus aims to enhance English communication skills of students and port and shore personnel by developing an online platform based on Standard Maritime Communication Phrases (SMCP). It will address the communication gap in port operations, improving safety and efficiency. By integrating SMCP into port operations, the project will contribute to improving language skills and increasing digitalization in maritime higher education and in the maritime industry.
▶Activities
The project will develop an online training platform tailored for students and port and shore personnel, focusing on job-specific communication in Maritime English. Activities include development of a curriculum and an online course with real-life case studies and interactive simulations. Pilot testing, feedback collection and continuous improvements will ensure effectiveness before the final platform launch and dissemination. Collaboration with industry stakeholders will be conducted.

The outcomes include improved Maritime English skills of students and port/shore personnel, leading to safer and more efficient operations.
