Objectives

We want to: 1) increase capacity of care professionals and help them to verify acquired skills on how to use culture and arts with people with intellectual or cognitive disabilities; 2) to provide opportunities for informal carers and unemployed people to improve their skills or to start a job in social sector; 3) create a network of social care experts and VET trainers as future instructors; 4) raise general awareness about importance of constant capacity building of social care experts.

Activities

We will: 1) Develop Training Programme and VET Educator’s Manual for using cultural prescribing and adapted arts and craft activities with people with cognitive or intellectual disabilities; 2) Organise competence verification system (probed by 2-stage piloting) and International training; 3) Develop national case studies on how to verify skills acquired through different educational experiences; 4) Set up local promotional teams; 5) Organise national webinars and local multiplier events.

Impact

1) Capacity of care experts is increased to use culture and arts with people with cognitive or intellectual disabilities and to verify their skills acquired with different educational experiences; 2) Informal carers and unemployed people are reskilled or upskilled to start a job in social sector; 3)VET trainers are provided with innovative, systematic CVET training and skills validation system; 4) General awareness about importance of constant capacity building of social care experts is raised.
