โ–ถSummary

The results of BRIDGE project (Promotion of European Traditional Sports and Games, a BRIDGE for Intercultural Dialogue) confirm that it is possible to promote European traditional sports and games (ETSG) as a bridge to actively foster peaceful intercultural coexistence. The Project has activated an intercultural dialogue between four groups of agents from four countries: Spain, Portugal, France and Italy: a) High School Students; b) Physical Education Teachers of these students; c) Researchers from the Universities of the territory of these educational centers; d) Associations of Traditional Games: AGA responsible for the organization of the international festival of TSG "Tocatรฌ" and the AEJeST, European association of TSG that has facilitated the participation of some of its members in that festival. All of them have been a true BRIDGE when sharing an educational experience based on European Traditional Sports and Games. From a technical point of view, the project has activated a cultural dialogue intra-center (in each of the institutes of secondary education) as an inter-center dialogue (by preparing and participating a group of people representing students of different centers, at an international ETSG festival held in Verona). In this process, the four groups of actors' groups have been enriched: a) the students have actively learned what it means to live in Europe through the ETSG; b) the teachers have enriched their interventions thanks to sharing teaching strategies that they usually use in their centers. In addition, these teachers have expanded their training through an online course that has developed the theme of learning to live together through the game; c) the researchers have also shared their knowledge to prepare the instruments, procedures and techniques for analyzing the data obtained (scientific evidence). They have also coordinated the presentation of these scientific evidences in international scientific events. d) Finally, the traditional games associations (AGA and AEJeST) have contributed to enrich one of the key actions of the project: the realization of an international festival of traditional games with the participation of representatives of all the groups of participants. From the administrative point of view, the BRIDGE project has also been developed in accordance with the planned work plan. The limitations of the geographical distance that separates the partners have been overcome through the use of videoconferences (on-line meetings). Through these meetings, technical and administrative issues have been coordinated.
