Summary

FOCUS T2MIS focused on the concept of learning mobility in the sport sector which occurs when an individual “Moves to a country other than their country of residence, in order to undertake study, training or other learning, including traineeships and non-formal learning, or teaching or participating in a transnational professional development activity.”STARTING POINTThrough the EU Feasibility Study on learning mobility in sport conducted in 2013 by EOSE including various consultation activities, a number of contradictory indicators were evidenced:>Sport organisations appreciate and recognise the benefits that would flow for individuals, for organisations and for the whole sector from an enhanced level of learning mobility and exchange, and the demand is high>But on the other hand, sport is suffering from a lack of awareness of the opportunities offered by the EU funded programmes as well as other available opportunities (national, regional and local levels) and the sector has only participated at a low level in the available programmes offering learning mobility opportunities. The demand from the sport sector has lain dormant partly because awareness levels of the opportunities offered has been low and partly because sport has lacked the organisation and capacity to engage.TARGETED OBJECTIVEThe overall objective of the partnership through T2MIS was to respond to this challenge and to implement an ambitious 18 month work programme targeting the design and launch of the first ever online European mobility tool dedicated to the sport sector. The idea behind this self-guided and centralised tool was to simplify and clarify the presentation of existing learning mobility opportunities, to raise the level of awareness of the concept of mobility and eligible opportunities of funding within the sport sector, and to guide interested organisations and potential candidates to find relevant information.By creating a culture of learning mobility for the sector, we strongly believe that individuals going abroad will acquire new knowledge, skills and competences, will strengthen their career and future employability as well as their personal development, and as a direct consequence this will positively impact the efficiency and quality of the running sport organisations and the development of the whole sector.ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUTAligned with EU policy, the work programme carried out by a partnership of 3 organisations and the coordinator EOSE was designed and fully completed through 7 main activities:>Desk research and analyse existing learning mobility opportunities accessible to sport at the European, national and regional levels>Desk research and analyse good practices of learning mobility in sport and collect testimonials from participants/hosts/sending organisations>Define the concept for the online sport mobility tool and agree a detailed script with information about the structure and layout, the information to be included, the options and filters to be considered>Design the tool with the support of an external web-designer>Conduct a series of consultation activities through specific national workshop to present and pilot the tool and collate feedback to refine it> Implement a wide awareness campaign and series of advertising activities to officially launch the online mobility tool towards the whole sport sector in EU on 1st of June 2018>Sign off a sustainable strategic action plan to encourage the use of the tool.THE RESULTThe online tool is available at www.t2mis.eu. It gathers information about available learning mobility opportunities for the sport sector and guides interested organisations/potential candidates to find information about the most relevant opportunities relevant to their profile, willingness and expectations.T2MIS should be seen as a first step of a long journey to create the conditions to support sport in accessing an enhanced level of learning mobility.
