โ–ถSummary

Active Campus Europa (ACE) project brought 16 academic sport services from 7 countries in an unique collaboration together. During the years 2017 and 2018 ACE partners developed health promotion activities for inactive students on their campusses. In the regular network meetings of the sport services partners exchanged their experiences and expertise with each other to learn from each other. This led to a great capacity building among the partners. Beside the network meetings, ACE partners implemented a health promotion program called "Move more, Feel better". This special program targeting inactive students was an experimental field for developing innovative sport interventions to reach this target group. The program has been evaluated. The evaluation results can be found in the final report and on the project homepage. The ACE collaboration published also a "Best Practice Handbook" for health promotion on campusses. In this book is an unique collection of several best practice examples how to reach physically inactive people succesfully in university context. The best practice handbook and the results of the project have been disseminated among hunderds of universities in Europe thanks to the international and national dissemination partners such as ENAS and ADH. Almost 750 printed versions of the handbook have been distributed to many interested organisations throughout Europe. The kick off and the final event of the project had a great symbolic impact for the dissemination. The kick off event was held in the governmental building in Maastricht in which the European Union has been founded. The final event took place in Aachen. At the final event there were representatives of the European Commission, the European Parliament and German health ministery. More information about the project is www.activecampuseurope.eu
