Naturefriends Sports for All
▶Summary
The following achievements were realised from the project “Naturefriends Sports for all”: Over 30 Naturefriends were able to participate in the workshops, to learn from experts and to share their own ideas, projects and possible challenges. Overall, creating accessible outdoor sport activities had been on the agenda for a lot of member organisations but without the access to experts and the chance to learn and share, concrete actions had been limited. Now, not only the participants were trained and gained plenty of hands-on experience, but the results were shared during the Annual Conference of Naturefriends International with another group of more than 30 Naturefriends and thus have reached all the member organisations worldwide. In addition, the decision has been made to develop a follow-up project on a bigger scale, with the focus on strategic development to achieve a higher impact and to implement accessible activities in the long run. Interested participants were able to meet not only fellow group leaders to exchange ideas, but also local experts from Austria and Belgium, which otherwise would have not been possible. This gave them a solid base to develop their own ideas and already the first projects are starting in the local organisations.Through the dissemination via social media and other online resources, people worldwide were reached, in addition to specific campaigns in six countries to target the local audiences.Through “Naturefriends Sports for all” the topic of social inclusion in outdoor sports has the chance to significantly change the core activities of the Naturefriends movement, not only reaching members but the general public as a lot of activities are open for non-members as well.
