Ski for All
▶Summary
The Skiforall project tackles skiing and young people with physical disability, within the frame of the Erasmus+ Programme: Sport Small Collaborative Partnership. It lasted from 01/01/2018 to 31/12/2019 and it has been carried out by four European partners active in the sport or disability fields: ASBI (Associazione Spina Bifida Italia, lead partner, ITA), FREERIDER SPORT EVENTS (ITA), FAIP(Federazione Associazioni Italiana Paratetraplegici, ITA) IF (International Federation Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus, BE), HANDY CLUB OSTRAVA (CZ). The partners collaborated to the creation of the flipbook “Guidelines for training teachers and coaches in ski activities for people with disabilities;” a theoretical and practical guide about skiing and disability addressed to professional ski coaches and teachers. These guidelines are the outcome of a collaborative work shared by European partners specialized in different fields of disability: Freerider and Handy Club Ostrava gave a technical support for the acknowledgement of methodology, ski lessons and their ski coaches network. ASBI, FAIP, IF gave their know-how centralizing the needs of disabled people into the most technical part of the guidelines. This was achieved thanks to their very long experience in social projects for people with disabilities (mostly youngsters) in different fields and the extensive local, european and international network with whom all the outcomes issued by this project are also shared. FAIP and ASBI created the bridge between their members and the actions of the project (mixed camp, ski training, schools), and IF gave the best practices in terms of dissemination among their international and european network. The guidelines were drafted during: 2-3 days training module’s meeting addressed to an average of 10 ski coaches in Italy and in the Czech Republic; Local and European awareness campaigns (social media, meetings in schools, etc.) about the project and the achieved action; 2 Mixed camps with young disabled and non-disabled people, trained by the ski coaches who attended the initial training courses in Czech Republic and in Italy. two Transnational partners meeting (Italy and Belgium) in which all the partners agreed about the final version of the guidelines and structured the outcomes beyond the end of the project. These Guidelines for training teachers and coaches in ski activities for people with disabilities are now available on the website of the project and they contain: Theoretical information about disabilities, injuries, etc.; Information on equipment and practical tips for skiing with disability; Training methodology and planning lessons, European references and links for adapted skiing.
