Summary

In January all the partners put in common all the actions to be carried out in the first part of the project. The actions were: the design and creation of the project website by UCAM, the design of logos. It was agreed to design t-shirts at each of the universities that would differentiate sports leaders, mentors, and team members. In June 2018, 10-15 students were selected by each university to be part of the team of sports leaders during two academic years. Once selected, the leaders devised a series of unusual and traditional sports activities without competitive purposes.Sports leaders worked through the entire process to start the activities, such as planning, advertising and marketing, recruiting participants, as well as solving problems that might arise, improving their transversal competences. 4 training seminars were held throughout the project. All the workshops were carried out properly in all the universities participating in the project. The methodology was agreed to know the effectiveness and impact of the project. One of the demands posed by society to the university is how universities facilitate the integration of work-based-skills. For that, one of the parts of a research study, the European Sports Leadership Programme used a modified version of the previously validated questionnaire by ANECA (2005) that assesses student’s perceptions of their key work-based competencies. This questionnaire allowed to explore from a single instrument, a broad set of key competences considered to be of relevance for the work place. Continuing with the training of leaders, between May and September 2018, Workshop 2 was held: careers action planning session with the sport leaders. The session covered what skills, attributes and personal factors employers are looking for in graduates relating to the projected careers of students. Personal reflections on skills and personal factors. The sports leaders began to develop the activities programmed in each of the universities.During the realization of the project, two more face-to-face meetings were held, in order to share with the rest of the universities. The first one was at the University of Thessaly, in Greece, on March 7, 2019 with relevant aspects: enhancement of student personal and professional development to help graduate employability: Presentation of results were discussed. Workshop 3 was held in all universities in the months of March and April 2019, in which some topics were discussed: Mid-way reflection and action planning. The last workshop (4) was held in April by all the universities. It dealt with the Review, final action planning and interview technique. Discussions about ‘where next’ for the students who would be a few months from graduating and entering the job market. The research questions raised in the project were measured through:Quantitative data to measure pre (Sept/Oct 2018) and post intervention (Jan 2020) Qualitative data – 2 focus groups per university pre (Oct 2018) and post (Feb/Mar 2020) with the same moderators’ plan used by all universities. The impact of the project on the students who have participated as sports leaders has been high: not only have they improved some of their competences, but the entrepreneurial attitude and communication in a foreign language. Leadership has therefore served to enable students to take an active role in their academic training, and to have the opportunity to learn through practice and above all, to take responsibility for planning, organizing and executing certain initiatives created by them. themselves. The final meeting was held online in Murcia. Due to covid-19: Update of the development of ESLP project, presentation of implementation in the universities. ESLP Pills - Experience in the implementation process with the testimony of the leaders, mentors and employers Future steps and assignments: toolkit & research activities.
