TOGETHER: Promotion des sports et jeux traditionnels européens, Together pour le dialogue interculturel inclusif

The TOGETHER project (Promotion of Traditional European Games and Sports, TOGETHER for Inclusive Intercultural Dialogue with People with Intellectual Disabilities (PID) has aimed its networking actions to promote Traditional European Games and Sports (TSG) as a bridge to actively promote intercultural inclusion dialogue.This project has allowed to sharing of different actions among the partners.a) Training. INEFC in collaboration with AEJeST has been in charge of training the leaders of three centres of PID. The first training was intensive and face-to-face at the Museo del Fuerte, the administrative headquarters of AEJeST in Almunia de Doña Godina, Zaragoza, Spain. ADISPAZ, also a partner in this project, has its headquarters in Almunia de Doña Godina. The second training was developed by means of a MOOC course through a Moodle platform of INEFC. b) The project has provided very useful tools: a manual or guide for using adapted TSG for social inclusion with criteria; traditional game objects, c) Local inclusive dialogue actions. In this phase of the project, people with disabilities of three centres from Spain, Italy and France carried out actions as monitors, referees and players. In each territory, these actions were adjusted to recreational activities in the area. In addition, all the centres carried out the same intervention with secondary school students in the area with the idea to compare the social impact.d) "Intercultural" action of inclusive dialogue. The last important action of the project consisted of an inclusive international festival or meeting with people with disabilities from the three centres in Italy, Spain and France. This activity was very positively valued by all participants despite the uncertain situation of Covid-19.e) Scientific evidence. The project has confirmed the positive social impact of traditional games and sports in favouring the relational and emotional well-being of all the participants.The deliverables and results of this project are shown on the project website.
