Background Our project was based on the idea that athletes should be encouraged to plan a dual career as soon as possible โ still at the age when they are not fully involved in professional careers, and share the time between training and learning. Initial training course is a way to give them basic knowledge of the other side of training, i.e. the trainer's job. Thanks to this approach, they will have been able to collect coaching experience and stay in sport as professional coaches and managers. Objectives The general objective of the Trainer 1.0 BETA project was to promote a positive behaviour among young athletes, by raising awareness regarding towards the need for preparing an โexit strategyโ after the end of the sportive career and by offering an opportunity for young athletes to have an innovative professional profile at already at the beginning of their sport career.The model is based on a training program aimed at young athletes. Implementation 5 expert teams that developed training materials in the first year of the project were established. The second stage was testing โ each of the 10 partners completed 2 courses โ for youth players in the co-operative sports clubs. Because of Covid-19, some courses were delivered on-line or in a hybrid way.The end of the project is evaluation, minor adjustments resulting from evaluations, supporting materials and a series of European dissemination seminars. Achievements International expert teams prepared 4 complete training packages for 4 popular team disciplines: football, volleyball, hand ball and basketball. According to the objectives, the level of qualifications of the graduate corresponds to EQF2, they are complemented by additional seminars and an on-line predisposition test, allowing graduates to plan different aspects of their professional career and gradually acquire qualifications and competences.The duration of the complete course is 35-50 hours.
