BoccE Together, acTive forevER!
βΆSummary
BETTER β BoccE Together, acTive forevER! project was focused on reintroducing European traditional sport bocce into the daily lives of people of all ages as a mean to tackle physical inactivity. It was implemented in Croatia, Bulgaria and Hungary. The goal of the project was to educate people (theoretically and practically) of all ages and genders on how to play bocce. In order to do that, partners created Bocce Training Module and organized two Capacity building activities (Workshop+Tournament) in Sofia and Budapest. With the help of experts from the local bocce clubs in Rijeka, Croatia, we have developed Bocce Training Module. This Training Module has been developed for the needs of BETTER, but it can also be used to educate other target groups in the future. From the very beginning of the project implementation, all partners tried as much as possible to involve the wider public, national bocce federations, etc. The project's success is also reflected by the fact that recreationists had an opportunity to learn from the best. One of the experts educating recreationists was Croatian best and Worldβs second bocce player. Also, Bocce Training Module was designed with the help of bocce World champion who wrote a book about traditional sport of bocce. For the 12 months, partners also took care of the visibility and dissemination of project materials. We prepared visibility tools such as logo, web page, printed T-shirts, roll-up banners, certificates of attendance, etc. Through press releases and social media, we presented our results as much as possible in the media. Consequently, the interest of the wider public has been attracted.Innovative elements of our project such as media promotion, non-formal education, video tutorial, the analysis of present situation and comparation with other countries and all other good solutions contributed to a wider reach and impact of the project. Project has contributed for the promotion of European traditional sport of bocce both on EU level and in the three partner countries, involved in project: Croatia, Bulgaria and Hungary.
