โ–ถSummary

The project aims to protect athletes from dangers associated with the misuse of substances and methods to illegally enhance performance in a sport context. Issues addressed are the positive values in sport such as fair play, humanity and honesty but also nutritional supplements, drugs and doping. The input student athletes receive from coaches, educators and doping experts will feed into the projection of the project tools. Accordingly, the main objectives of this project are toโ€ข protect and safeguard the health of young athletes and;โ€ข fight doping in sport by promoting the positive values in sport. In contrast to traditional approaches in the fight against doping which is structured top down, student athletes will produce for student athletes peer to peer products and trainings to fight drug abuse/ doping use in sport by focusing on the inherent positive values of sport such as fair play, humanity and honesty.Student athletes from 3 countries will work together with anti-doping experts, coaches and educators and use these products and trainings to multiply the results achieved in this project. The impact of this project cannot be overemphasised, as peer to peer trainings will continuously raise awareness on the issues addressed in the project. Student athletes are generally members of different clubs and will impact club life there once they participated in a project training (happy and healthy at sport training).Regarding sustainability and follow-up, the intention is to develop a large-scale collaborative sport project with the aim of rolling out the tools produced in this project. Furthermore, the project consortium hopes that this project will possibly lay groundwork for a European platform for elite schools of sport to share and exchange on good practices, know-how to promote the well-being and welfare of young athletes in Europe.
