Background Athletes friendly Education project was focused on the promotion of Dual Careers of Athletes and the support to innovative educational approaches and good governance in sport. It is relevant to the objectives of the EU policies in the field of sport and in pursuit to the objectives from the EU Commission Guidelines on Dual Career of Athletes. Main aim was to develop in partnership an innovative system for supporting Dual Careers of Athletes. Objectives The project Athletes friendly education is based on the integrated development of athlete like comprehensive personality and contributes to solving the issues of status of the athletes at the end of their careers. AFE project was structured and result-driven project, and was opened to different stakeholders. With the reached outcomes of partners contribution, it enables the establishment of the certification system in the field of Athletes education at the European level. Implementation Nine partners from six different countries implement project activities within 5 working packages. Most important part was dedicated to development of the system for evaluation of educational institutions which. Due to COVID 19 global pandemic, we needed to prolong the project for one year. Even later partners were limited with restrictions in EU countries. Therefore, partners needed to change some already predicted tasks and oriented to the on-line implementation. Achievements Among important results of the project, we can highlight AFE Handbook and AFE Manual that are open for use. Both publications consist of all details how to establish the system and promote Dual Careers of Athletes. Another important result is also list of educational institutions which were evaluated in this project piloting phase. Result of the project is also media campaign, which included information about the project, project outcomes and contribution of Erasmus + Programme of the EU.
