BeRURALactive - Multisport complex in rural reality to empower physical activity motivation

Background The project “BeRURALactive - Multisport complex in rural reality to empower physical activity motivation” developed an innovative multisport context that allowed kids in the rural areas to be actively involved in sports activities during their vacations and through the developed context, they were inspired to remain involved in sport and raises physical activity levels and reduce obesity. Objectives The main aim of the project is to motivate the children in Europe to be engaged in sports activities. The project “BeRURALactive” developed an innovative multisport context that allows kids in the rural areas to be actively involved in sports activities during their vacations and through this context, they are inspired to remain involved in sport and raise physical activity levels and reduce obesity. Implementation #BeRURALactive has implemented various activities on a local, national and international levels; the project had a clear focus on the development, identification, analysis, promotion, and sharing of good practices in attracting kids to sport and to teaching coaches to teach different sports. The organized events were focused on motivating children in small settlements to practice several sports - individual and collective, non-formal educational activities through sport. Achievements During the project, a methodology was developed for teaching different sports by coaches in rural areas in Europe. 26 coaches from three countries were trained - Bulgaria, Slovenia and Lithuania. They organized 12 sports events for children in the three countries.The handbook “Multisport complex in rural reality to empower physical activity motivation” was prepared on the basis of the methodology adopted during the meeting in Bulgaria, but also on the subsequent analysis by all representatives.
