Background Sports activities play indeed a vital role in promoting social integration, particularly among young people. Practicing sport is one of the most powerful positive forces to ensure that young people remain socially engaged, find purposeful employment and avoid the risk factors associated with delinquency and crime. The main target group of the PI.PO Project are children/young people who, due to their condition of social fragility and socio-economic hardship, have difficulty in accessing sport. Objectives •To activate an international social support program for children in difficulty using the table tennis as an innovative tool for social inclusion and for enhancing positive sociality, personal and collective well-being and strengthening the sense of community as well.•To show how children in poverty condition need a “safe” sporting environment, financially, physically and/or socially. •To demonstrate that sports can contribute to social inclusion. Implementation The project is structured in order to facilitate preliminary the transnational exchange of best cases and the transfer of capacities [WP2]; to sustain the implementation of a common protocol for children/youngerr throughout Table Tennis Laboratories [WP3]; to consolidate at transnational level the achieved results by establishing the Sport Without Frontiers Observatory [WP4]; to disseminate project result at Local/National/EU Level.
