Aging Movement or Rethinking Aging
โถSummary
Background The project is in line with one of the priorities for the European Commission: health promotion through physical activity. Our project aims to awake the interest in sport and physical activity in the 50+ sedentary age group, so as to lead them to healthier old age and prevent cardiovascular and musculoskeletal diseases, a consequence of sedentariness or inconsistent practice of physical activity. Objectives Objectives of AMORE project:1.Encourage and promote participation in sport for adults of age 50+ 2.Design and implement at least one six months course for adults 50+. During the project each partner chose the most effective physical activities to achieve the primary objective, and exchanged their experiences and results in the four meetings organized during the project. 3.Promote good practices of sport among target groups - adults 50+ Implementation AMORE partners organised different activities for seniors of age 50+ adapted to the conditions and restriction of the pandemic. The results of these activities were shared during the TPMs and demo lessions were held:- in La Spezia - soft gym for seniors with Parkinson desease- in Plovdiv - soft gym in central Plovdiv city park- in Bucharest - forest bathing- in Parma - dancing lessions involving also handicapped seniors on wheelchairs. Achievements The results of the AMORE activities were published widely in social media on private FB profiles of the participants, project FB page and the FB pages of the partners. This was a very good channel to inform citizens, sport associations and professionals, as well as local administrations. The sports associations and stakeholders involved in the project developped their own promotional activities (presentations during professional meetings) to maximise the use of the results after the project.
