Summary

Background There is a challenge globally, to include pupils with Visual Impairment in Physical Education in general schools. This project met this global need and provided a sustainable solution for all general schools where pupils with visual impairment attend. Hellenic Ministry of Education approved the “Say Chess" educational material for all schools that was created during the current Small Collaborative Partnership. For sustainability, it has already been approved for the next academic year 2022-23. Objectives S.M.A.R.T. Objectives: We launched a campaign “Say Chess” raising awareness for equal opportunities and putting “sports for all” first in general schools where pupils with different abilities are together. We demonstrated with the use of inclusive educational material and chess sets, the importance of chess and human rights education with the innovative application and intercultural fairytale book, in Braille and with tactile drawings. Implementation Educational workshops in general Schools where pupils with visual impairment attend, aiming for social inclusion, equal opportunities and awareness of the importance of health enhancing physical activity, through increased participation in and equal access to sport for all. All sports activities in the schools were in-the-field including all pupils. We implemented 4 TPMs in all consortium countries and dissemination with the support of our famous Ambassador, Ms Judit Polgar, a role model.
