โ–ถSummary

Background SPORT&NFE aims to create an empowering environment for building up competences of sport educators by combining Education through Sport and Non-Formal Education methodologies. Sport professionals have the chance to gain more competences in applying ETS methodology through gaining a deeper understanding of NFE. The project serves as a bridge between formal education, NGOs, and the sport sector, contributing to the creation of long term multi-level cross-sectorial networking and cooperation. Objectives The objectives of the project are to build up sport educators' competences in NFE and ETS; create strategies that promote NFE and ETS methodologies to boost participation in sports and learning of young people; create conditions and support the development of cross-sectorial networking on EU level between NGOs and sport sector; promote equal sport opportunities for all; provide sport entities and schools with guidance and tools for designing and implementing educational activities using ETS. Implementation The project was split into four main stages: Project management and transnational meetings; preparation and implementation of local work phase and activities; creation of the intellectual outputs (further divided into three phases of the creation); and dissemination stage. The project results were disseminated by all partners and as final event an international conference on the topic of Sport and NFE was held in Sofia with around 100 attendees from Bulgaria and other European countries. Achievements A self-paced online training course on Education through Sport; interviews with experienced coaches and youth workers on their experience with NFE; examples of implementation of ETS in written and video form; a Handbook for sport professionals and beginners, that explains the concept of ETS and its importance, and gives practical examples of exercises that can be implemented; and a platform where you can find all the results, as well as additional resources - sportandnfe.eu.
