Summary

Background In spite of the fact that swimmers may dislike running, and runners may dislike swimming, as are the answers to surveys conducted online and on site during the realization of this project, it is clear that stereotypes, according to which running is not good for swimmers and vice versa swimming is not good for runners may be partly accepted for top athletes, but for recreational athletes to whom this project refers, the benefits are incomparably greater than the possible disadvantages. Objectives • Refute the stereotype of incompatibility of recreational swimming and running, i.e. include more recreational runners in recreational OWS events, as well as vice versa• Improving and updating safety measures in swimrun events especially in OWS part of swimrun events• Create an online manual for organizers as well as for swimmers and runnes related to swimrun events• Do that through the cooperation of a transnational partnership consisting of 7 partners from 4 countries Implementation With implementation of this project, the conditions are defined, which will help doubters and those who do not know what awaits them joining swimrun. In practice, it turned out that after they try the exercise, they are enthusiastic and any fear is unnecessary.Accessible way of exercise, recreation and enrichment of the program for all stakeholders. The partnership brought together some key representatives who collaborated and ultimately developed new information for organizers and participants. Achievements An online manual related to benefits of swimming for runners and vice versa of running for swimmers with an emphasis on safety at swimrun events was created for recreational swimmers and runners, i.e. organizers of swirun events. All contents and results, including the manual, are available on the project website: https://swimrun.com.hr/. While the links to access the said page are on the web and FB pages of the partners in the project.
